Kredo — offline-first bookkeeping and credit tracking, by EngineTech
Last updated: July 13, 2026Applies to: Kredo mobile app
Note on this document: this policy is written to match exactly
what Kredo does today — nothing more, nothing hypothetical. It is a solid,
accurate first draft, not a substitute for a lawyer. If our user base grows, or
we start processing payments, showing ads, or operating in a jurisdiction with
specific requirements (e.g. GDPR in the EU), we will have this reviewed and
updated by a local lawyer before that point.
1 Who this applies to
This policy applies to anyone who creates an account and uses the Kredo mobile app.
2 What information we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect:
Your phone number and/or email address (used to create and secure your account)
Your business name
Your preferred currency and country
Your business data
Everything you enter to run your business through the app, including:
Contacts you add (name, phone number, notes)
Transactions you record against those contacts (sales, purchases, payments, job-work entries, amounts, dates, notes, and any items/photos you attach)
This is the core purpose of the app — tracking who owes you money, who you owe, and the history behind it.
Feedback you send us
If you use the in-app Feedback feature, the message you write (and, if you provide it, a way to reach you back) is sent to our internal support channel so we can read and act on it.
Automatically collected diagnostic information
If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, technical details about that failure (what screen you were on, the type of error, and a device/app version summary) are sent to our error-monitoring service so we can find and fix bugs. This is about how the app is behaving, not what you typed — we do not intentionally send your contacts' names, transaction amounts, or any other business data as part of a crash report, and screenshots are explicitly disabled for this reporting so nothing visible on your screen at the time of a crash can leak into it.
What we do not collect
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not currently collect general usage analytics (which screens you visit, how long you use the app, etc.). We do not sell your data to anyone, for any reason.
3 How we use your information
To create and operate your account
To store and sync your business data (contacts, transactions) across your own devices, and back it up so you don't lose it if you get a new phone
To let you optionally connect with other Kredo users you do business with (see Section 5)
To respond to feedback or support requests you send us
To find and fix bugs and crashes
4 Where your data is stored
The app is offline-first: your data lives on your own device first, so the app keeps working without an internet connection. When you're online, it syncs to our backend (provided by Supabase) so it's backed up and available if you reinstall the app or switch devices. Data in transit to our backend is encrypted, and access to your data on our backend is restricted to your own account — other users cannot query or browse your raw data directly.
5 Who we share information with
Our backend infrastructure provider (Supabase) stores your account and business data on our behalf, under a standard processor relationship — they don't use your data for their own purposes.
Our error-monitoring service receives the diagnostic crash/error information described in Section 2, and nothing else.
Other Kredo users, only when you choose to interact with them:
If you make your phone number discoverable (a setting you control, on by default, changeable any time in the app's Menu), another merchant who has your phone number saved as a contact can find and link to your account. Discoverability only reveals that an account exists for that phone number — it does not expose your transaction history or contact list.
If a transaction you record is linked to another registered user, the specific transaction details you're sending them (amount, type, date, note) are shared with that one counterparty as a confirmation request — the same way it would work if you handed them a paper receipt.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.
6 Your choices and rights
Phone discoverability can be turned off at any time from the app's Menu — this stops other users from finding your account by phone number.
Exporting your data: the app's Menu includes a Data & Backup section where you can export your business data at any time.
Deleting your data: the app's Menu includes a self-serve option to permanently delete your account and associated data. You can also request deletion by contacting us at the email below. We'll confirm what's been deleted and any data we're required to retain (e.g. for fraud prevention or legal compliance) and for how long.
7 Data retention
We keep your account and business data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward in case you return, unless you request earlier deletion under Section 6.
8 Children's privacy
Kredo is a business tool intended for adults running or managing a business. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country).
9 Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we collect or use your information, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
